Empire Lakeshore Inn offers free manger on Christmas Day
From staff reports
In the literal spirit of Christmas, Megan and Peter Schous, who own the Empire Lakeshore Inn and Tiffany’s cafe, will offer free accommodations to weary travelers on Friday, December 25.
“This is the time of year where we finally have time to take a step back and reflect on all
of our blessings while enjoying unforgettable memories with friends and family,” they wrote in a letter to the Empire community. “As the story of Christmas is told in the Bible, the Holy Family was traveling to Bethlehem for a census and could not find a place to stay as all the inns and
houses were full with weary travelers and the only place for them to lay rest was in a manger.”
“In celebration of the Christmas Story we would like to offer free accommodations to all travelers on Christmas Day. We ask that you please share this with anyone that will be traveling or just in need of a warm bed this Christmas Day. We hope this will bring family and friends together to enjoy the celebration of the birth of Jesus.”
