Empire holds fourth annual Roy Taghon snowmobile race

News

From staff reports

Visit the Empire Airport on Saturday, Jan. 12, for the fourth annual Empire Snowmobile Drag Race / Roy Taghon Memorial. The airport is located at 13264 S Benzonia Trail (CR-677), several miles east of Empire. The day-long even features a beer tent, live music, and fast sleds.

The race takes place annually to honor the memory of Empire native and snowmobile lover, Roy Taghon. Bring the kids to this family friendly event and experience the thrill of drag racing.

Registration begins at 8 a.m.; racing starts at 10:30; live music by Strobe Light Honey in the warming tent starts at 1 p.m. For more information visit the Empire Chamber’s website. For photos of last year’s event, visit the Facebook page.
