Empire Area Community Center holds Dec. 17 concert
From staff reports
The Empire Area Community Center (EACC) will holds its annual Emergency Fund Auction and Concert from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Empire Town Hall — to benefit the Emergency Fund which helps our neighbors who have fallen on hard times.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. for viewing items. Coffee, lemonade and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Bring your own beverage. Auction items donated by many area merchants and individuals include: quilts, a classic 1950s photographic print, a guitar donated by Buckets of Rain, and more.
Enjoy the sound of Freya to warm you up for the Auction. Freya presents music from the world bazaar: flutes, piano, Swedish nyckelharpa, accordion, octave mandolin, guitar, and vocal harmonies weave tunes of Euro-folk-jazz by the hands of Lisa and Ingemar Johansson, Sue Wood and Gary Cook.
The EACC is proud to announce that so far in 2017, the Emergency Fund has paid bills for people who have fallen upon hard times in the amount of $22,511.75. Please help continue to fill that gap for people that just need a little ‘one-time’ assistance to keep their heads above water.
