Dance and laugh to Three Men and a Tenor

Three Men and a Tenor, an internationally renowned comedic vocal music sensation, will bring a high-energy, hilarious, vocal music show to Thoreson Farm north of Glen Arbor in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District, on Saturday, June 26 at 7 p.m. This concert is the main ingredient of the Glen Arbor Art Association’s (GAAA) “Here Comes Summer” benefit event. Come celebrate the arrival of summer with a special evening of delightful music, delicious food, artists’ demonstrations, and a Family Fun Silent Auction that includes great packages for families.

Three Men and a Tenor have been performing together since 1992, and have polished a family-oriented musical comedy program designed to make people laugh and feel good. It is a professionally staged and choreographed vocal music show with a unique twist —the group performs the whole show without using any instrumental support. If you hear instruments, it is one of their four voices making it happen. Expect the unusual, high-energy and hilarious vocal antics and soothing harmonies as Three Men performs music you will recognize … and some of their original arrangements.

“The concert will be a laugh-a-long, sing-along, thrill ride of great music,” commented lead vocalist Mark Stiles. These musicians have entertained the troops in Iraq, college and university audiences and opened at the Traverse City Cherry Festival.

Through events like “Here Comes Summer,” the arts and cultural life help to build a vibrant community. This event provides a summer-perfect venue that will bring the community together on an historic farm in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to celebrate the arts, the uniqueness of northern Michigan’s rural life and family summer traditions. It promises to be the sensation of the summer.

An optional box supper provided by Cherry Republic can be pre-ordered. A Family Fun Silent Auction will add to the event with packages donated by GAAA friends and merchants, such as kayak tours, pizza parties, birthday parties and family-friendly events. Proceeds will help with the upkeep of Thoreson farm where the GAAA holds summer classes.

Price for the concert with a box supper and beverage is $30 for adults or $20 for concert-only.  Concert and box supper for children 12 and under is $15 and concert-only for children 12 and under is $10. There is no concert charge for children under 3. Order box suppers before June 22.  After June 22 concert-only requests can be accommodated.

Please visit www.GlenArborArt.org to print a registration form. Or call the GAAA office at (231) 334-6112. Order now to ensure that your family can attend this fun-filled evening. Local sponsors for the concert include Cherry Republic and Jim and Linda Stevenson.
