Cedar holds 43th annual Polka Fest, Aug. 21-24

The Cedar Polka Fest is an annual festival celebrating the town’s rich Polish history. The celebration lasts four days and nights, and attracts nearly 10,000 people for family fun in the heart of Leelanau County. Come to Cedar and eat, drink, and dance the nights away.

With live Polka music from the best polka bands in the nation, this festival is a real treat for Polka fans. Food vendors offer beer, polish food, ribs, hotdogs, popcorn and more. Kids will enjoy games, while adults can indulge in the unique atmosphere that Polka Fest creates.

This is one of very few polka festivals remaining in the United States. The 43rd annual Cedar Polka Fest kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 21, under the big tent in Cedar. The Polka Festival has become a signature event in Leelanau. The Cedar Polka Festival has grown into one of the largest and best events for Polka music and attracts enthusiasts from near and far.

Onsite food trucks will include: Pierogi Rig Polish food from Chicago; D&K Wood Fired Polish food from Dearborn; Queen Bee’s from Traverse City; Krysia’s Kitchen Polish food from Rochester, and Good to Go Mexican food from Kingsley.

Once again BATA will offer fre shuttle service from Traverse City. Buses will leave on the hour starting at 5 pm from the Meijer parking lot on US 31. Buses will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 21-23 from 5 pm-midnight. The last bus leaves Polka Fest at 11:30pm.
