Bel Lago offers food, wine, conversation with chef, author Abra Berens

News

From staff reports

Join chef and author Abra Berens on Thursday, April 22, for a virtual cooking lesson featuring a recipe from Abra’s cookbook Ruffage — A Practical Guide to Vegetables with wine pairing from Bel Lago winemaker Blake Lougheed.

Enjoy a lively conversation surrounding food, wine, agriculture and everything in between as Abra walks you through the preparation of her Garlic Confit with Marinated Beans, and Blake explains the nuances and artistry behind successfully pairing wine with food (he’ll be preparing it for himself as well!)

Both Abra and Bel Lago are avid supporters of Michigan agriculture and businesses and will be using beans from Sheridan Acres — a fourth generation family farm located in Huron County (the thumb) as one of the main ingredients in this recipe with Bel Lago Auxerrois Moreno Reserve and Pinot Noir as selected wine pairings.

Guests are invited to participate in this interactive event by purchasing one of the two packages listed below or by simply registering for the virtual event via zoom.

OPTION 1: Wine, Beans & Ruffage $84 Includes 1 bottle of Bel Lago Auxerrois Moreno Reserve, 1 bottle Bel Lago Pinot Noir, 1 lb. bag Sheridan Acres beans, Abra Berens Cookbook & access to the live zoom event.

OPTION 2: Wine & Beans $49 (for those who already have the cookbook) Includes 1 bottle of Bel Lago Moreno Reserve, 1 bottle Bel Lago Pinot Noir, 1 lb. bag Sheridan Acres beans & access to the live zoom event.
