FoodCorps, partners reinforce school nutrition at Suttons Bay

News

FoodCorps recognizes that healthy eating is important for students, not only for their physical health, but also for their educational success. However, simply telling students that they should eat well does not result in healthier students. Students in low-income areas often face food insecurity. In Michigan a family of four that makes less than $32,630 per year qualifies for the program.

What hath the wind brought?

Historical Feature, Poetry/Essay, Talk of the Town

The windstorm that hit Leelanau County this week was the strongest storm ever to hit the continental United States, rivaling the pressure of tropical storms and surpassing the winds that doomed the famed Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975 in Lake Superior.
