The Glen Arbor Players are eager to return to the stage in 2021 in front of a live audience. The troupe has developed a COVID-19 protocol that will allow them to return to the stage at a wonderful home at the Glen Lake Church community center. The Players have four talented, seasoned directors, several new thespians, a new drape background system and four diverse, entertaining plays.

The Glen Arbor Players present “A Pair of Spades,” two short plays with the archetypal detective Sam Spade at the center of all that’s criminal. Performances are Oct. 5-6, at 7:30 pm at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church, 4902 W. MacFarlane Road, Burdickville. Admission is free; no reservations are required.

The curtain goes up twice in July for the Glen Arbor Players (GAP). On July 20-21, GAP performs Leland playwright Priscilla Cogan’s new work, “The Summer Cottage,” at 7:30 pm at the Leelanau School, 1 Old Homestead Road, just north of Glen Arbor. Cogan’s work, a comedy-drama, brings four generations of women to a lakeside cottage where they confront a range of persistent issues and old ghosts. “The Summer Cottage” is built around adult themes, such as abortion, spirits and sexuality, and is rated PG-13.

The Glen Arbor Arts Center’s Glen Arbor Players (formerly Readers’ Theater) head back in time to Hollywood of the ’50s in its next production, “Sunset Boulevard”. Performances are June 1-2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church, located at 4902 W. MacFarlane Road in Burdickville. The performance is free.
