Claudia Schmidt has been weaving her musical magic for 50 years. It begins with her multi-octave voice, 12 string guitar and mountain dulcimer. But then the language leaps in, and it all comes together. Her love of language is obvious from the moment she opens her mouth. The Grow Benzie Community Center will host Schmidt for a concert on Sunday, June 18, at 4 pm.

On Tuesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. the Beach Bards will present a House Concert performed by Claudia Schmidt and Dean Magraw at the Happy Place Lodge (Gerry and Charol Shiffman’s home) at 10120 W Phillips St in the Village of Empire.

Don’t miss this special evening, as the Beach Bards welcome longtime Michigan musician Claudia Schmidt and her Minneapolis friend Dean Magraw for a house concert at “The Happy Place Lodge” — aka. Gerry Shiffman’s house in Empire (10120 W. Phillips St.) — at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Longtime northern Michigan musical favorite Claudia Schmidt will play a house concert at the Shiffman home in Empire on Thursday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. Schmidt now lives in Minneapolis, so this is a special homecoming for “the creative noisemaker”.
