Suttons Bay Theatre welcomes famed Canadian folk singer Garnet Rogers

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Join The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 7 pm as the Winter/Spring “Live at The Bay” season gets off to a remarkable start with Canadian folk singer, instrumentalist, (and author) Garnet Rogers taking the stage. Given his extensive performance history at North America’s most prestigious venues, the Bay is thrilled to to host this great artist here in Suttons Bay.

Described as a “brilliant songwriter” and “one of the major talents of our time” by the Boston Globe, Rogers is a powerful physical presence—close to six-and-a-half feet tall—with a voice to match. “Canada’s favorite troubadour” has been the featured performer on numerous television and radio programs including Much Music, Mountain Stage, and All Things Considered.

He has been a headliner at concert venues and festivals such as Wolf Trap, Lincoln Center, and Art Park, sharing the stage with performers such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Billy Bragg, Bill Monroe, Ferron, Greg Brown, and Guy Clark. With his “smooth, dark baritone” (Washington Post) his incredible range, and thoughtful, dramatic phrasing, Rogers is widely considered by fans and critics alike to be one of the finest singers anywhere.

Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance at thebaytheatre.org and $35 at the door ($5 discount for certain Bay membership levels).

The Bay Community Theatre’s “Live at the Bay” Winter/Spring 2026 series is presented by French Valley Vineyard, Hendryx House, and Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities.
