April Fools’ Day: Stone House on bike trail sells fast!

From staff reports

How hot is Leelanau County’s real estate market these days—as families eager to escape big cities during a pandemic fix their gaze on our “land of delight”?

Behold the stone house (well, two stone walls, and change) next to an apple orchard on the Leelanau Bike Trail in Bingham Township. It sold yesterday for $800,000 after it was on the market for 2.5 minutes.

“We were worried a bidding war might ensue,” said Carrie Flatterme, the listing agent who works for Most Beautiful Place in America Real Estate. “We were worried that might lead to throwing stones. And there aren’t many stones left in this structure. So once we hit $800,000, the sellers accepted!”

The property is definitely a fixer-upper, said Flatterme. Not quite a turnkey.

“But ‘Bingham House’ as we call it in our office, is definitely a catch. It’s a stone’s throw from all the amenities of Leelanau County and Traverse City.”

Happy April Fool’s Day. Sorry if you believed this story.
