Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak brings WaveJet to Empire
WaveJet Propulsion, a revolution in water sports, will take Empire by storm on June 21 as part of its 2013 WaveJet Experience Summer Tour. Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak shop invites people to come and watch WaveJet in action. Numerous boards will be available for demos at the Empire public beach from noon-6 p.m.
The beauty of WaveJet’s revolutionary, performance-enhancing technology is it lets you go where no one else can go and do things no one else can do. Surfers spend more time riding waves, regardless of condition. Paddlers don’t have to worry about winds or currents changing directions. Lifeguards save more lives.
WaveJet is a personal water propulsion system designed to be used in a range of personal watercrafts including surfboards and stand-up paddleboards, lifeguard rescue boards and body boards. The WaveJet System includes the board, a wireless wrist controller and the WaveJet Power Pod, which uses renewable, rechargeable lithium ion batteries, and provides 20 pounds of thrust. The pod is powered through a wireless wrist controller that utilizes Seatooth technology and recharges into any electrical outlet in three hours. WaveJet technology also features an electronic dismount, so that the power is cut if the rider falls off the watercraft.
