Premium Pour and the Leland Wine & Food Festival

The Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association (LPVA) recently started a new “LPVA Second Fridays” series that allows wine lovers a chance to experience Leelanau County’s award-winning wines and unique tasting rooms after hours (from 5-8 p.m.) on the second Friday night of every month.

Ciccone Vineyards Tasting Room Manager Jaclyn Eikey says, “This is not business as usual — I think we’re all enjoying an exclusive opportunity for intimate evenings at our tasting rooms. We have so much variety that there always seems to be something new and fun.”

The next one takes place Friday, June 12 — the night before the popular Leland Wine Festival. It’s called “Premium Pour” and gives you a chance to tune up your palate with some top shelf and library wines from Leelanau wineries. The schedule for the rest of the summer showcases Leelanau’s fruit wines, meads and ciders on July 10 in “The Fruits of Leelanau,” and while wineries won’t be pouring for your four-legged friend, they will welcome dog lovers and their dogs for a fun evening in “The Dog Days of Summer” on August 14.

On Saturday, June 13, one of Michigan’s oldest and largest wine festivals takes place from noon to 6 p.m. in Leland. The day features over 20 wineries and food vendors and music from The Fabulous Horn Dogs. It’s a great chance to taste wine and food from Leelanau and kick off the summer.
