National Lakeshore reschedules Maple Sugaring Days for March 22 due to weather conditions
From staff reports
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore announced in a media release that it has rescheduled the candlelight hikes and Maple Sugaring Days program originally set for Feb. 28 and March 1 to Saturday, March 22, at the Dechow and Olsen farms, due to a rapid drop in temperatures and dangerous winter conditions at the park.
As an alternative for March 1, the National Lakeshore will offer night sky programs in the inflatable planetarium. These 30-minute programs will feature Anishinaabe night-sky oral traditions and take place every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center. The inflatable planetarium is ADA accessible. Reservations are recommended for these free programs. Please call 231-326-4700, extension 5005, for details and to make reservations.
