Leelanau Cheese celebrates National Cheese Day, June 4

Saturday, June 4, is National Cheese Day and the anniversary of the bittersweet transition of ownership from John and Anne Hoyt to the new owner-operators of Leelanau Cheese, Josh Hall and Gary Smith. All Michigan-made cheeses are being celebrated at Leelanau Cheese. The shop will host free events for all ages throughout the day, with a few special events with reserved seating.
Free events include: meet the Cheesemaker with Idyll Farms, Saltless Sea Creamery and Leelanau Cheese; a wine pairing with Black Star Farm Wines, (age 21 and over), Touch-a-Truck, all ages (donations for Safe Harbor will be accepted), Milk 101 with Devor Family Farms and Milk Means More, all ages.
Special events include: a mozzarella-making workshop, chocolate and cheese pairing with Great Lakes Chocolate & Desserts Co., Cheese 101 with The Cheese Lady of Traverse City, Make and Take Charcuterie boards by Leelanau Bounty Boards. For more details and to register, visit LeelanauCheese.com.
