Glen Lake Library plans Spring Break events

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

The Glen Lake Community Library in Empire will host a series of special events for area students during the week of Spring Break, from March 31 to April 4. Planned activities include:

Tuesday, March 31: STEM kit open house. Young learners are invited to explore the library’s collection of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) kits and games. Library staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide assistance and answer questions.

Thursday, April 2: Dinosaur Coloring & Stories. Help create a colorful dinosaur banner, to be displayed in the library.  Youth Services librarian Maryellen Paull will lead the fun, and share some special dino-themed stories.

Saturday, April 4: Sleeping Bear from Below. Experience the Great Lakes from a new perspective in this documentary film from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This immersive film is projected inside an inflatable dome, offering a unique 360 degree view. Screenings will take place every half hour.

All three programs will be offered on a drop-in basis, from 11 am to 2 pm, with no advance registration needed. In addition, on Friday, April 3 at 11 am, the library will host a special edition of their weekly Stories & More for preschoolers, with some sunny spring stories and an Easter egg hunt. For more information about these and other library program, call 231-326-5361, email info@glenlakelibrary.net, or visit glenlakelibrary.net.
