Glen Arbor Arts Center seeks entries for Art in the Time of Coronavirus fall exhibit

News

From staff reports

The Glen Arbor Arts Center seeks entries for two upcoming exhibitions, Power Tools and Art In The Time Of Coronavirus. The exhibitions are scheduled for September 11–November 5.

Power Tools is a juried exhibition built on the belief that the visual arts provide powerful tools of expression. Visual artists have long been vital contributors to conversations about the issues of their times. Power Tools seeks work that shows what the maker is thinking about, stewing about, working through, irritated and/or amused by—or any other thing/state/emotion seeking expression.

Art In A Time Of Coronavirus is an exhibition of postcards [4” x 6”] created in response to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic—an unprecedented event that has left us wondering: What is this? What’s next? How do I behave? We’ve added new concepts to our daily life [social distancing, flattening the curve]. And, find ourselves living in a time when—out of an abundance of caution—there’s no place like home. This small exhibition is open to any person of any skill level who wishes to create a postcard expressing their experience of the Coronavirus pandemic.

For more information visit the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s website. The Arts Center is located at 6031 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor.
