Flow for Water holds Saving the Great Lakes Forever Conference

Investigative Article, Upcoming Event

This weekend, May 6-7, the Flow for Water Coalition will team up with the Great Lakes Water Studies Institute, Northern Michigan College and Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation to present the 2011 Conference “Saving the Great Lakes Forever”. Show up at the State Theatre in Traverse City on Friday, and Milliken Auditorium on Saturday, to learn about the threats and solutions to protect the waters of our Great Lakes forever.

Speakers will include: Maude Barlow, a Senior Advisor to the President of the U.N. General Assembly, which recently recognized water as a human right; Wenonah Hauter, Executive Director of Food and Water Watch, D.C., local attorney Jim Olson, and more.

Watch the trailer for the movie “Tapped” to learn more about why drinking tap water is preferable to supporting the bottled water industry.
