Empire holds Ode to Asparagus poetry contest

The Glen Lake Library in Empire will once again host an Ode to Asparagus poetry contest as part of the upcoming Empire Asparagus Festival.

Poets should submit their asparagus-inspired verse by Thursday, May 17, along with their name and contact information, to: Glen Lake Community Library, PO Box 325, Empire, MI 49630; or by email to info@glenlakelibrary.net. Poems may also be delivered directly to the library.

Poets are encouraged to come recite their work at the reading on Saturday May 19, at 2 pm. Prizes will be awarded to the top three poems, as determined in advance by our review panel, along with a Best in Show audience pick.
