Celebration memorial planned for Phil Thiel

Acelebration/service “par-tay” (as Phil may have called it) for the late Phil Thiel—who passed away in March—is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, at the Telford Farm, north of Cedar off Schomberg Road—approximately a half mile north of the intersection of Good Harbor Trail/CR 651 and Schomberg Road. Look for the private road sign “Winberie Lane” on the west side of the road (and a small vineyard next to it).  

Friends of Phil should arrive to socialize between 4 and 5 p.m. Words about Phil will be shared at 5, followed by a pot luck (bring a dish to pass). In homage to Phil’s 50th birthday party 15 years ago, K. Jones and the Benzie Playboys will play (again) and rock the barn with their Cajun tunes from 7-10 p.m.
