The Boardman Review is an attempt to capture the essence of northern Michigan through an array of multimedia formats, presented in both a print and digital quarterly publication. After launching in July 2017, together with my brother, Nick, we found that the people and stories of this area have already surpassed our hopes and dreams for the project, and have started to fill in, piece by piece, the northern Michigan vibe puzzle.

Ronald Leroy Bialy returned in mid-April to Glen Arbor to be new head chef at the Manor on Glen Lake, 32 years after he worked at Le Bear restaurant (which is now Le Bear Resort). This spring the Manor has new floors, new amenities, and an enhanced American bistro-style menu that focuses on ribs, steaks, specialty potatoes, salads and homemade dressings.

Cady Hall scooped ice cream at the Pine Cone at age 14 and started waiting tables at the Good Harbor Grill a couple years later. A Glen Lake graduate now living with her family in Suttons Bay, Cady has joined forces with Cos Burroughs to manage the midtown mainstay eateries. The son of owners Ann and Brendan Burroughs, Cos has worked there all of his life.
