Bricker exhibits at Center Gallery
Glen Arbor artist Beth Bricker’s home turf is small by design. Her selective focus on two areas of Leelanau County is the subject of an exhibition of new paintings that opens July 13 at the Center Gallery in Glen Arbor.
“My world spans from Glen Arbor to Empire. I rarely leave this section of the county,” said Bricker, who has lived in the region for more than three decades. “The smaller the scope, the more I find to see. I’m painting what I see from the northernmost reaches of Glen Arbor Township to the south of Empire.”
Bricker works in both acrylic and gouache paints. The activity of painting in such well-known surroundings helps the artist to better know the plants, places and animals that make up its character.
The exhibition begins with a 6 p.m. public reception, and continues through July 19. For more information please call (231) 334-3179.
