Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay to host monthly Bay Cinema Society
From staff reports
The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay is launching The Bay Cinema Society, a monthly opportunity to watch and discuss classic, contemporary, foreign, and documentary films in a relaxed setting.
Beginning on January 26, and occurring the fourth Wednesday of each month, The Bay Cinema Society will meet at 2 p.m. for a screening of a special film, followed by a discussion. The Bay Cinema Society is open to the public. There is not a membership requirement to participate. Also, while moviegoers are encouraged to join the discussion, it’s not a requirement. Cost for the movie will be free for The Bay Theatre members and $2 for the general public.
January’s film will be Singin’ in the Rain, the first movie shown at The Bay when the Bahle’s opened the theater in 1946.
Future films will include Casablanca, Rear Window, Double Indemnity, and The Bridge Over the River Kwai and will be chosen in conjunction with Cinema Society members! Please come out and join The Bay Cinema Society to engage in lively discussion and the enjoyment of great films seen as they should be, on the big screen.
