Bay Theatre announces Live at the Bay fall 2025 series

From staff reports

The Bay Community Theatre is announcing a new season of Live at the Bay in downtown Suttons Bay this fall featuring a lineup of acclaimed musical and stand-up comedy artists in diverse genres. The Live at the Bay Fall 2025 series is proudly presented by French Valley Vineyard, Hendryx House, and Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities.

The Fall 2025 season kicks off Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7 pm with a special solo evening with May Erlewine. One of the Midwest’s most prolific and passionate songwriters, Erlewine has a gift for writing songs of substance that feel both fresh and soulfully familiar. Her ability to emotionally engage with an audience has earned her a dedicated following far beyond her Michigan roots, touching people all over the world.

Erlewine draws from a wide variety of influences to create her sound. Lyrically, her songs are rooted in hard-wrought wisdom, joy and sorrow, simplicity, and stories from her own experiences. Erlewine uses her music as a platform for positive change. Her words have held solace for weary hearts, offered a light in the darkness, and held space for the pain and joy of being alive in these times. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $45 in advance/$50 at the door.

The season continues on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 7 pm with Low Gap. Low Gap is primed to take the country music world by storm. Recently featured in Rolling Stone, brothers Gus and Phin Johnson are young musicians already making an impact with their authentic writing and catchy tunes. With roots in Eastern Kentucky and Southeastern Ohio, Gus and Phin grew up listening to bluegrass and Americana music. That – combined with folk, country, and classic and southern rock – creates the unique tone that has become the duo’s signature sound. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door ($5 discount for certain Bay membership levels).

The next event in the Fall 2025 series takes place on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 pm with Westbound Situation, who blend the precision of classical chamber music, the rhythmic drive of bluegrass, and the colorful expression of jazz into a new style of chamber music: chambergrass. The quartet – comprised of Grant Flick on violin, Jake Howard on mandolin, Zach Brown on cello, and Jacob Warren on bass – mixes composition and improvisation seamlessly into their entirely memorized arrangements. Westbound Situation’s exciting and diverse concerts feature a set of unique original repertoire colored with recognizable standards from many genres. With bluegrass, classical chamber music, and jazz all coming together, a Westbound Situation concert is dazzling musical journey not soon forgotten. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $25 in advance/$30 at the door ($5 discount for certain Bay membership levels).

The Fall 2025 season of Live at the Bay concludes on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7 pm with John Heffron. Back by popular demand after a sold-out Bay show in 2024, national standup comedian and “Last Comic Standing” winner John Heffron resonates with audiences of all ages, making him a household name in the world of comedy. From his childhood adventures to his experiences as a married man, stepfather, and grandfather, Heffron shares life’s funny and inspiring moments that everyone can relate to. His clean, uplifting humor doesn’t tear down life but celebrates it, making you laugh while reflecting on universal triumphs and failures. Heffron’s appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Late Show,” HBO, FX, VH1, A&E, and CMT have solidified his reputation as a top-notch comedian. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $30 in advance/$35 at the door ($5 discount for certain Bay membership levels).
