From staff reports
The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay is pleased to announce the new season of the Bay Film Series 2014-2015. The program offers a fine selection of award-winning films from around the world which have played at international film festivals in the United States and abroad. The series runs September through April and features one film per month—that’s eight great films you won’t want to miss.
This year’s schedule begins Sept. 14-16 with The Lunchbox (India) about a relationship that develops when a note in a lunchbox is mistakenly delivered to the wrong person. The program continues Oct. 12-14 with Calvary (Ireland) starring Brendan Gleeson as a priest whose life is threatened by a mysterious parishioner; Nov. 9-11 features The Immigrant (USA/Poland) with Marion Cotillard as a 1920s immigrant from Poland who falls prey to an American man. Dec. 14-16: Like Father, Like Son (Japan) deals with two families whose boys were mistakenly switched at birth; Jan. 11-13: Ida (Poland) a drama about an orphaned, novitiate nun who learns the secrets of her family’s past; and Feb. 8-10: Life Itself (USA), a documentary about the life of world-renowned art critic Roger Ebert. Two additional titles will be announced for March and April.
