Bahle’s Golf, Bayside Coffee for sale in Suttons Bay
From staff reports
The Bahle family is listing Bahle Farms Golf Course near Suttons Bay for sale. The family is represented by Cory Beuerle and John McIntyre of Century 21 Northland.
“This is a decision driven by the need to simplify our business as we transition to the next generation,” said Rich Bahle. “In light of our ages it is simply time to slow down and pass the torch as we step into retirement.”
“Our family had a dream to build a signature golf destination in the heart of the Leelanau peninsula, centered around our community. As we enter our 20th year of operation it is time to transition to new ownership with the same ambition of fostering and supporting our community.”
“As with The Bay Theatre it is important to us that the course continue in operation. Thus our commitment to its operation into 2021 and beyond as we look for new ownership. It is our goal to find someone who is invested in the area and community who will take the course to the next level.”
Built on land mostly owned and farmed by the family since the mid 1940s, the course encompasses more than 200 acres through cherry orchards and hardwood forest offering spectacular views of Leelanau’s natural beauty.
Bayside Coffee for sale
After more than four years of owning Bayside Coffee & Tea in Suttons Bay, Randy McMillen and his wife, Tak seek to sell the business.
Tak was born and raised in Thailand. She is a Thai chef and certified Thai masseuse and has worked in restaurants and managed a coffee house overseas for many years. Tak brought her expertise to the United States and paired it with her love of teas and coffee to run Bayside Coffee & Tea with her husband Randy.
Bayside has been the perfect spot to have a business meeting, gather with friends or just stop in for a drink. Many of their regulars are local business owners, residents. Many cyclists will bike the Tart Trail from Traverse City and take a break in Suttons Bay for a drink at Bayside. Randy and Tak have enjoyed getting to know the community and be a welcoming space for all these years.
It was both a hard decision and an easy one to make the news public that they would take steps to sell. Randy and Tak have various health concerns that drove them to make this choice. The couple has worked hard to build a brand, invested in the best equipment to make a “consistent cup” of coffee or tea and offer quality, local ingredients. They hope to pass the torch to someone that would enthusiastically run our favorite “local, foodie coffee house” with the hopes to see Bayside stay open to the community for years to come.
