Art Association features pop-up gallery
From staff reports
The Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA) will show artwork by its summer instructors in a pop-up gallery in the GAAA’s temporary offices at 6654 Western Avenue in Glen Arbor. The work of 14 GAAA instructors will be on display July 5 to August 31.
GAAA instructors work in a range of media — oil painting, gouache, pastel, woodblock and mono printmaking, photography and ceramics. The exhibitors are: Robert Ashmun, photography; Mary Brodbeck, mokuhanga printmaking; Linda Dewey, pastel; Jane Ditri, pastel; Hank Feeley, acrylic; Mary Guntzviller, watercolor; John Huston, ceramics; Jim Jacoby, photography; LC Lim, monotype printing; Joseph Lombardo, oil; Joan Richmond, gouache; Ken Richmond, watercolor; Lynn Uhlmann, oil; David Westerfield, oil.
In February, work began on the construction of the GAAA’s expanded offices and gallery space at 6031 S. Lake Street, and the GAAA relocated to its current location across from Synchronicity Gallery. The exhibition of instructors’ work is a way for the GAAA to continue its practice of hosting small exhibitions of artwork during the summer, said GAAA director Peg McCarty. The new, pop-up gallery is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
