Garden Theater hosts second annual Frankfort48 Film Contest
From staff reports
Aspiring filmmakers and those with photography and film interests are invited to come to Frankfort from June 21–23 to create a 3- to 5-minute film celebrating the beauty and unique character of northern Michigan.
Participants in the second annual Frankfort48 Film Contest will have 48 hours to conceive their ideas, scout locations, film, edit, and present their masterpieces. Prizes will be awarded to the top three filmmakers. Judges for the event are esteemed filmmakers and actors with film experience. For more information about participating in this competition visit Frankfort48.com.
The top three winners receive cash prizes with their winning films shown during the 10th annual Frankfort Film Festival scheduled for October. New in 2018 is the Traverse Traveler Choice Award with one winning entry to be highlighted in an ad to air on the Traverse Traveler Visitors Channel, playing in over 3,000 hotel rooms in the greater Traverse City area. The winner will also receive a prize package along with the opportunity to take part in the ad creation.
The public is invited to attend a screening of the winning Frankfort48 films on Saturday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to attend are $10 and can be purchased the evening of the event. The final event festivities will include a pre-screening party starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by film showings of the winning and most interesting films produced, and first, second and third-place awards presented at approximately 8 p.m. after the films are presented.
