Tim Allen to host Galaxy Quest special screening at Bay Theatre

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Join The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay on July 21 at 7:30 p.m. for a screening of Galaxy Quest. During this special event, The Bay plans to launch its next fundraising campaign. This fundraiser will allow for The Bay to replace its 76-year-old seats with brand new, updated seats that still have that vintage aesthetic. These seats will be built and designed by Michigan’s own Irwin Seating Company.

Become a part of The Bay’s newest upgrade by sponsoring a seat or two. For $300 per seat, you can get your name on a plaque that will be displayed on the back of the seats. Please note: This sponsorship is not required to attend the event.

The best part of this whole thing? The one and only Leelanau County resident and actor Tim Allen will be your host. Allen will be onstage prior to the screening to answer questions, give away autographed merchandise, and reveal the sample of our new seats.

Galaxy Quest is an excellent, feel good comedy that’s enjoyable for the entire family. The movie is about the stars of a 1970s sci-fi show—now scraping a living through re-runs and sci-fi conventions—are beamed aboard an alien spacecraft. Believing the cast’s heroic on-screen dramas are historical documents of real-life adventures, the band of aliens turn to the ailing celebrities for help in their quest to overcome the oppressive regime in their solar system.

Tickets are on sale for this special event. Ticket Pricing is $35 for Premium and Sustainer Members, $40 for Public. Doors open 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7:30 p.m. For more information, please visit www.TheBayTheatre.com.
