Leelanau Township Community Foundation, Northport Arts Association hold Open House, showcase new ClayWorks studio

The Leelanau Township Community Foundation (LTCF) is co-hosting an open house with the Northport Arts Association (NAA) and the Northport Performing Arts (NPAC) at 301 N. Mill Street, Northport, on Wednesday, May 11 from 4-6 p.m. The NAA will be showcasing their exciting new ClayWorks studio and the LTCF office space has been reconfigured as well. LTCF is very pleased to welcoming NPAC to the home of their new office headquarters. The public is invited. Light refreshments will be provided.
In their latest grant cycle, the Leelanau Township Community Board of Trustees and the Youth Advisory Council approved the following grants to:
- Bethany Christian Services to fund the expansion of the Safe Families for Children program in Leelanau County.
- Northport Performing Arts Center to fund 2022 advertising costs.
- Northport Youth Sailing School to fund seven (7) full scholarships for Leelanau Township youths.
Under the recommendation of the LTCF Youth Advisory Council grants were approved to Northport Public School (NPS) for the following:
- To help fund the construction of an outdoor classroom for Northport Public School students, grade K-12.
- K-5 students to attend the Schoolship Science Program through Inland Seas Education Association
- A grant to help fund a performing arts experience at the Fisher Theater in Detroit for NPS seniors.
- A grant to fund the initial material costs for Project MEND for students grade 6-12.
The Leelanau Township Community Foundation was established in 1945, and for 77 years the Foundation has been dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for those who live, work, and enjoy the community we love.
