He regaled us with stories of his days as a Flying Tiger(only when we begged). I had my one and only college "C" from him in his pottery class, because I flattened every pot I made, not being satisfied with it. We had a juried evaluation for a grade, and Ben gazed at my lone pot with a puzzled expression on his face. Finally, he looked up and asked, "Is this all?" and I nodded in the affirmative. "What happed to the rest of them?" I admitted I hadn't felt any were good enough to keep. "You may never be a potter," he told me with a hint of a smile on his face, "but I don't expect you to give up so easily." If he had his way, he wouldn't allow any development on any inland lake. If he had the power to do so, he would make sure everything that already exists would be removed.
