I am the lady from downstate and I had come north to visit my sister and get away from my newly "emptied nest". I was moved by the three flags and knew that some very proud mother must be behind them. Finding no one home, I left a quickly scribbled note. I returned later that afternoon to see Cindy mowing the grass in her USMC t-shirt. As soon as I told her I was the lady that had earlier left her a note, she hugged me and I cried. One of the greatest blessings of the Marine Corps is that we all belong to one big family. I have had the honor of knowing many outstanding Marines; my husband, my brother, two nephews, and my uncle. Now my own son is at boot camp earning the title of United States Marine and I couldn't be prouder.
